Meet the Roaster: Allpress Espresso

Dalston, London.

For our first Good Brew Box, we hit up our friends at Allpress Espresso to feature their house Espresso Blend. As one of our all-time favs it was a no brainer to share this stand-out blend with our subscribers.

Roasting from the heart of Dalston, London, Allpress has come a long way from where it all began. Having started out as New Zealand’s first coffee cart back in 1989, Allpress now works with over 1000 independent cafés around the world.

Obsession with flavour drives Allpress, and everything is about ensuring consistency in your cup. Allpress exclusively roast coffee using a unique hot air roasting method. Traditional drum roasting billows smoke as the coffee drops into the cooling tray, but the advantage of hot air roasting is that when the beans hit the cooling tray there are no grey clouds to be seen. This allows the unique character of every bean to shine through and the burnt taste that traditional drum roasting causes to disappear – smoke and all.

For Allpress, and part and parcel of their Kiwi Roots, coffee is about taking it slow, avoiding the frenzy and enjoying me-time with a solid cup of coffee. When you make your cup of Allpress Espresso Blend, be sure to stop, breathe and appreciate all that’s around you. Get your head out of those digital clouds.
